Farewell, Spring Break!

I return to work in about 9 hours, and I'm not happy about that. This spring break was great. Kristen and I spent 3 nights in Las Vegas. We went and saw Cirque Du Soleil, ate sushi, shopped (including at the Apple Store), and spent only 4 dollars in a slot machine! I will post photos soon. The best part was riding on The Big Shot on top of the Stratosphere. There's nothing like being shot straight up into the air, only to fall right back down...and fast. Kristen got me the GarageBand Jam Pack volume 2, Remix Tools, so I plan to spend some time with that later this week. Also, my new Apple bluetooth mouse is freakin' SWEET!

TiVo: A New Hope

Looks like a deal with Comcast might be able to save TiVo! Read the press release here. Could TiVo software on a Comcast/Motorola box be more stable or faster than TiVo's current offerings? I certainly hope so! Too bad Comcast isn't offered in my town, and too bad we're pretty happy with TiVo by DirecTV. Shoutout to my old friends over at TiVo Tech Support! I know they miss me so much...

Sweet Victory

The show sold out in about four minutes, but I was lucky enough to snag three tickets to the May 28 show in Phoenix! One ticket will naturally go to Zack, for his gallant efforts to score us even more tickets. Dispite his thwarted efforts, he shall be rewarded. Ticket number 3 is up in the air. Michael can no longer go with us because of an archeological dig he is going on, starting the same week. Kristen wants to go, but she may be going on a family vacation starting that weekend. Las Vegas in 12 days. Life is good.

Concert Anxiety

I don't remember the last time I was this nervous to get something that I really want but might not get. More tickets for Nine Inch Nails tour go on sale tomorrow. At 5 PM tomorrow, we are trying to secure six tickets to the May 28 show in Phoenix. Coordinating efforts with Zack in Tuscon, we might just have a chance. I feel I need to sacrifice something to the music gods tonight. In any event, I am finding time to review the music of the Dresden Dolls, NIN's opening act for this tour. So far I'm quite impressed. Check their site for some free MP3's.
